When discussing "2am" Extrachill.com states the song "is the iconic Slightly Stoopid party song, with lyrics about being harassed by the man, referring to the police. They're breaking down your door at 2 a.m., 3 a.m., and 4 a.m. because they know you've got a lot of weed in there. The sax is juicy, the bass is hot, and if you're throwing an outdoor party in the summer, "2am" should be on your playlist." I agree with their assessment that this song definitely creates a vibe. It makes me want to lie down on a beach and soak up the rays.

Hi Kellen! We both chose reggae music as our #2 analysis, nice work. Obviously I have to approve of your selection, as I was just playing “Officer” by them the other day. Have you ever listened to the group Stick Figure? “Just Another Dream” is so good by them, I’ll link it below for convenience. The horn that’s apart of the harmony puts me directly in the French Quarter of New Orleans, which proves you were correct about their ability to blend genres. Have a great day. Hey Gus, didn't realize we had such similar music taste. Thats awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing the song i'll give it a listen.
DeleteThis genre of music is new to me, in fact this might just me my first time listening to reggae music. I do agree that that repeating tone does contribute to how relaxing this piece of music is. Though it may. not be my kind of music, I enjoyed learning about it and being introduced to something new. I read the lyrics to get a better understanding of the song and wonder if the lyrics and the laid-back melody contradict each other, especially in that first verse where the lyrics mention there was a gun to his head.
